‘Action Winter’ is maintaining on the voivodeship’ roads of Lubelskie

The one of the main tasks of the Regional Road Administration in Lublin is to ensure the unobstructed traffic on the regional rods. Ensuring un unhampered traffic of vehicles and mitigation of the obstacles for all road users (including pedestrians) is realized through a range of activities such as e.g. cleaning of snow and work against road slipperiness.

These tasks are realised through:

  • Keeping in readiness the equipment for winter roads maintaining (such as sand trucks, snow plugs etc. );
  • Ensuring so called passive protection through installation of the anti-snow, plastic wire mesh fences along the roads, – for the winter season2019/2020 approximately  175,5 km of voivodeship roads have been protected on such a  way;
  • Monitoring of the roads’ condition using special computer system that combines GPS system for roads maintaining equipment (snow plugs, sand trucks) with a system of CCTV cameras located in a key places;
  • Ensuring an on call support by the RRA employee;
  • Informing potential users of the voivodeship roads about the regional road’s condition through the internet portal of the RRA (e.g. Map of the roads obstacles; Weather chart with an information about the roads surface condition, Map of the potential road hazards).
