The fifth Meeting of the Steering Committee of the project ‘Extension of the voivodeship road No 812 on the section Korolowka – Wlodawa’ implemented within the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine, held on December 3rd – 5th 2019 in Lublin, Poland .
The Ukrainian delegation headed by Mr Valentyn Tsos, Deputy Head of the Volyn State Regional Administration participated actively in discussion on the current stage of the project implementation, its realized activities and those planned for the next months. During on-site visit, they could observe the progress of construction works and methods used to minimize the inconveniences for local inhabitants.
Ukrainian visitors had the opportunity to familiarize with some infrastructure projects implemented by Regional Road Administration on the territory of Lubelskie voivodeship. The visited so-called ‘Dutch town’ in Puławy, where the voivoiship road is traversing the city and there is a need to slow down the road traffic. Such tools, know in Western Europe, as gateways located in the beginning of the urban area, elevated crossroads intersections, specific lines for vehicles that turns left, bike path linked with the city bikr network and modern bus bays.
Later the bridge in Kamień built in 2012 – 2015 and the voivodeship road No 747 modernized on the section Kamień – Konopnica was visited. Both structures were financed from European programmes. They increased the access to Lubelskie voivodeship from western Poland and at the same time serve as an example of the voivodeship road ensuring the comfort of drivers from one side and the safety of all road users from the other, by building the service roads on both sides of the road and ensuring very good visibility.
On the premises belonging to the Regional Road Administration, so-called ‘Action Winter’ was presented to Ukrainian guests. It contains the functioning system of the winter roads maintenance, ensuring the continuous twenty four hours supervision of the roads condition and modern tools, ensuring the real-time supervising of the snow plugs/salt spreaders movement (on the monitor’s screen). It enable to react in short time for potential crisis situations.
